2nd St. to 10th St. surf guide

2nd St. to 10th St. is a popular surf spot that provides a variety of waves for surfers. This beach is pretty nice and has allowed some of its natural beauty to shine through, featuring a thickly vegetated dune field. You can park on the street and access the beach via the paths, which makes it easy to get there; itโ€™s only about a block away. In the summer, you can surf all day from 8th to 10th Streets without needing to worry about beach tags.

The surf here works best with medium swell, typically between waist high (about 1 meter) to well overhead (about 2.1 meters). It generally does better from mid to high tide, especially when the wind blows from the northwest. The waves are fun, producing both right and left breaks over a sandy bottom, and you can catch them when the swell is coming from the EastNorthEast, East, EastSouthEast, SouthEast, or SouthSouthEast. The paddling out can be manageable for beginners and intermediate surfers, but it might get tough on bigger days.

In terms of the crowd, you can expect a light to moderate presence, creating a mellow vibe overall. Just keep an eye out for rip currents and the shallow bottom, which can catch you off guard. The best season to surf here is from September to March, and you'll find spots suitable for shortboards, fish, funboards, longboards, and even bodyboards.
