More about 2nd St. to 10th St. surfspot

General: 2nd street to 10th street and produce fun rights and lefts on a medium swell, but it doesn't handle size that well. Best from mid- to high tide, the shorebreak can get punchy. This is a really nice beach that, to some extent, has been allowed to return to its natural state. Rabbits, toads and a variety of birds inhabit the thickly vegetated dune field. Park on the street and walk the paths only. It's about one block to the beach. All-day surfing is allowed in the summer from 8th to 10th Streets, and, best of all, no beach tags are necessary. Tides: Mid-high generally best Size: Waist high-well overhead Wind: NW Swell: NE to SE Bottom: Sand Paddling: Doable, can be tough on big days. Spot Rating: Many options for fun waves when there is swell in the water.
