The only year-round surfing area in Ocean City and one of the best waves in the state. Handles as big as it gets with pitching gnarly waves no further than 50 yards (45m) off the jetty. Rights on the 7th Street side in a southerly and long left barrels in a nor’easter.
Timing paddle-outs and reading the rips is essential here when it’s bigger. Watch the stormwater pipes at higher tides. Very consistent, therefore it’s often crowded. Tags needed. You can’t surf the lefts south of the jetty between 10- 5pm.
