Adria surf guide

Adria is a surf spot located 15 km north of Ravenna along Route 309, heading toward Venice. It's just north of the small town of Casal Borsetti. To reach the beach, you can park near the Swiss Residence and take a short walk through the bushes. The area can get pretty crowded, especially during peak times, so be prepared to share the waves with other surfers.

The surf here offers some decent options, particularly a long sandbar that produces a right-hand wave. This wave breaks about 200 meters offshore and works best with a strong southeast swell, which makes for solid rides along the Romagna coast when conditions align. It's surfable with moderate onshore southeast winds, and the best times to hit the water are during low, mid, or high tides. You can handle swell sizes starting from around 2 feet (0.6 meters). The paddle out is long but safe from the channel of a short left about 100 meters south of the beach access point.

If you're heading out to Adria, it's good to know that the spot is best suited for intermediate surfers. Keep an eye on the wind direction, as the preferred winds come from the southwest. Just remember to stay aware of your surroundings, as the surf can get localized and busy.
