Anse des Cayes is a surf spot located on the beautiful shores of Saint Barthélemy. This spot offers a mix of waves that cater to different skill levels, making it a popular choice among local surfers. It's not overly crowded, which can be a plus if you're looking for some space to paddle out and enjoy the waves.
The left at Anse des Cayes is mellow and can occasionally roll out for quite some distance, making it suitable for intermediates. On the other hand, the right is a bit more challenging, breaking over a shallow coral reef, and is best tackled by experienced surfers. The spot generally handles swell sizes around 3 feet (about 1 meter) well, with an optimal swell direction coming from the Northeast. You can also catch waves from the North and East. The preferred wind comes from the Southwest, and the waves work well during low, mid, and high tides.
When you’re out at Anse des Cayes, keep your eyes open for the reef breaks which can be fun but tricky, especially on the right side. Make sure to check the swell conditions to get the best out of your session. Grab your board, and enjoy what Anse des Cayes has to offer!
