Antonio's is located on the northern part of Rincon and offers a mix of surf experiences. It's primarily a right-hand wave with a shorter left, making it a decent option for surfers looking for variety. The wave breaks over a mix of sand and reef, which can add to the fun, but doesn’t always deliver epic conditions. It's generally bigger than what you might find on the Rincon side due to its more north-facing position, which helps it pick up leftover swells.
The surf at Antonio's can handle swell sizes ranging from about 4 to 8 feet (1.2 to 2.4 meters), with the best conditions coming from the NW, N, and NE swell directions. It tends to work well on low to mid tides, making it a good spot for both beginners and intermediate surfers, but experts can find their groove here too. The wind prefers a south direction, so the best time to surf is when the wind is out of the east-southeast to south-southwest. Paddle out can vary depending on the swell — sometimes it requires a bit of work, but generally it’s manageable.
Access to the spot is pretty straightforward, with parking available just west of The Landing. While crowds can be a concern, they tend to be spread out due to the two main takeoff zones, so you won’t feel too cramped. The overall vibe here is pretty relaxed, not too much local pressure, but keep in mind the environment can get a little messy after rains.
