Aruh surf guide

Aruh is a surf spot located a long 40-minute boat ride away from the nearest access point. It’s a relatively quiet spot that offers a consistent surfing experience, especially beneficial for those looking to catch some waves without the usual crowds that you might find at more popular locations. While it may not be the most famous spot out there, it has its share of appeal for surfers willing to explore.

This spot is known for its spinning lefts that really come alive with a good north or east swell, particularly when the conditions are just right. The optimal swell direction is from the NorthEast, with swells breaking best when they’re at sizes around 2ft (approximately 0.6 meters). Surfers here will find that it handles various conditions well, making it decent for low, mid, and high tides. The reef breaks over dead coral, which requires a bit of caution. The preferred wind direction is from the west, making for more enjoyable sessions on the water. Aruh is best suited for intermediate surfers who can manage the wave conditions, so if you're comfortable in the water, you’ll likely enjoy it here.

When you head out, just keep in mind that this place isn’t going to deliver those epic waves every time, but on the right day, it can be reminiscent of spots like Macaronis in Indonesia. Overall, it’s a good spot for a bit of adventure and some great lefts if the swell is supportive.
