More about Asilomar State Beach surfspot

Picturesque crescent beach flanked by two headlands. Three different take-off spots here, each with varying consistency and shape. The beachbreak in the middle of the bay packs a punch, and the reef areas at the north and south ends can get very good. The beachbreak works best on a medium-high tide, while both reefs prefer lows. All spots blow offshore with a SE storm wind. Southern tip of a bay cruised by sharks. Heavy paddle-outs and currents when big.

General: A nice sweep of sandy state beach with crystal-clear water, Asilomar is exposed to everything, can handle up to 12-foot and can have surf year-round. The different spots are:

1.
