Bagasse is located at the northern tip of the island, Grand-Rivière, and it offers surfers a unique experience with its powerful waves. This spot features two main breaks that can be exciting, especially for those looking to ride some solid swells. The setting has changed a bit recently due to the new harbour, which has had an impact on the wave dynamics, particularly with longer rights peeling down the entrance on big swells from the west.

The spot handles swell sizes starting at 3 ft. (about 1 meter) and works best with swells coming from the north, northeast. You can expect lefts and rights to form over an uneven reef, creating some challenging but rewarding conditions. For the best experience, aim to surf at low, mid, or high tide, and keep in mind that southeast winds are preferable to get the waves just right. This is definitely an intermediate-level spot, so it's best suited for surfers who have a bit of experience.
