Balian is a surf spot located in Bali that features a rivermouth rock shelf peak, making it a solid option for surfers looking for reliable waves. Known for its consistent swell, Balian tends to handle different swell sizes well, offering something for all skill levels. The area attracts a mix of surfers, from beginners to more experienced riders, but it may not always be the most suitable spot for everyone depending on the conditions.

The optimal swell direction for Balian is from the south, but it can also pick up swells from the west. The waves here generally break over uneven reef and sand, which can create a range of surfing experiences. You'll find both left and right breaks, with the left often focusing more on size and power. Swell sizes can be as small as 2ft (about 0.6 meters), and it can go much bigger, particularly when the conditions align.
