More about Ballina North Wall surfspot

Quality, wedging peaks hit the Ballina North Wall groyne at the Richmond rivermouth in a Duranbah-esque fashion. AKA Lighthouse Beach, there's great wind protection from S winds, but the talented local crew are always on it. Handles more size than the other town beaches to the north like Shelly and Angel, which also get good banks.

That huge flow of freshwater provides a super-highway for both swell and fish, bringing surfers and sharks together. 2015 saw 3 attacks on this stretch including a fatality at Shelly. Avoid early/late/solo missions and join the pack of locals - there's safety in numbers!
