Banff - Palmercove is a long, fast sandbar wave that breaks into the mouth of the River Deveron, turning hollow on its day. It's a right-hander that peels over sand and needs a decent swell to come to life.
When It Works
Palmercove draws swell from the northwest through to the northeast (NW-NE), with north (N) swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, so wait for a solid swell before making the trip.
Wind and Tide
Look for a south (S) offshore wind to clean up the face. The sandbar needs low tide to get going, and a rising tide is generally the better call.
Access
