More about Beliche surfspot
The best beach in the Sagres area. It needs a hefty NW swell or a standard S to work and is offshore on N winds. When good it’s a classy left wedge that handles up to double overhead. It’s very hollow and fast and overrun with hot locals.
General: Small, cliff lined, southerly facing sandy cove with a fun, wedgy, hollow peak that often produces good left and right ramps, so subsequently doesn't take much to feel crowded. The bay picks up less swell than Tonel and can disappear at high tide. Tides: Low to mid tide. Size: Waist high to overhead. Wind: NE Swell: SW to NW Bottom: Sand Paddling: Ok, generally an easy paddle. Spot Rating: Small, sheltered cove that can be home to super fun, refracted wedges that ramp up the size, throwing out hollow rights and lefts.
Good for all abilities - main peak best for experienced surfers.
Car park at the top of the cliff with steps down to the beach.
Best December to February.
Crowd Factor: Depends on time of day - when working can be very crowded. Local Vibe: Energetic - competitive.
OK
Stay away from crumbling cliffs. The main wedge can be heavy.
