Booti Booti surf guide

Booti Booti is a chill surf spot located in Booti Booti National Park. It's right by the beach and offers a relaxed vibe for surfers of all levels. The camping area behind the beach makes it super convenient for those looking to catch some waves without having to travel far. The southern corner of the beach has solid peaks that can stretch for miles, giving you plenty of options to find your perfect wave. Just remember to check the swell and tide before heading out.

The spot works best with east swell, but it can handle north-east and south swells as well. It’s good for a variety of swell sizes starting from 1 ft (about 0.3 meters). You’ll find beach breaks happening over sand, and the waves can break both left and right. For the best experience, aim for low to mid tide, but it can also be surfed during high tide. The wind from the west usually makes for better conditions. This spot is beginner-friendly, so it’s a great place to learn and practice your skills.

Just south of Booti Booti, Elizabeth Beach can sometimes offer some sucky wedges and close-outs, especially when the northeast swells are pumping. It's popular among bodyboarders when the waves are bigger and gets busy with surf schools when the conditions mellow out. Keep this in mind if you're looking for a little variety in your surf session.
