Brusand is a beach that offers a surf-friendly vibe with a solid beachbreak. Located on Jæren, it can work pretty well under the right conditions, especially with sizeable Northwest swells and any South swells. It has some nice sandbars that can help produce decent waves. However, be mindful that the currents can be stronger than at some of the other neighboring beaches, so it's a good idea to be cautious if you're not familiar with the area. Access is simple, with parking available at the camping sites located at both ends of the beach.
This spot is best suited for intermediate surfers looking to have some fun. It can handle swell sizes around 1 ft (0.3 m) and breaks over sand, which is generally forgiving if you wipe out. The waves come in both left and right directions and are usually more powerful when the conditions align. Ideal swell directions are from the South, Southeast, and Northwest, and for the best results, you'll want to catch it when the wind is coming from the Northeast. The tide can be low, mid, or high, and Brusand has the potential to produce fun sessions regardless of the tide.
For parking, you'll find that there's a small fee of NOK 10 (about a GBP) at the camping site in the far southeast end of the beach. Make sure to stick to the established paths due to the dunes' vulnerability to erosion. Overall, Brusand can be a decent spot if you're in the right conditions, so keep an eye on the forecasts!
