Cabedelo surf guide

Cabedelo is a popular surf spot located next to a jetty that gives it a good chance of consistent waves. While you might not always catch the perfect right peel next to the jetty, the place can handle whatever the North Atlantic throws at it. It's got a solid sandy bottom, making it suitable for various surfing conditions. Just keep in mind that the best days often rely on some shifting sand from big winter storms to create those ideal waves.

The waves here can range from waist high (about 1.5 meters) to double overhead (around 3 meters), depending on the swell. They break over sand, with both right and left options. The area works best with northwest, west, and southwest swells and is pretty nice with east or northeast winds. If you're planning to surf here, low to mid tides are usually the way to go. The jetty helps create some fun wedges and well-formed waves, making it a decent spot for beginners to experts, although the locals can be pretty assertive.

Access to the beach is quite convenient with parking available near the jetty and south by the hospital. However, expect it to get crowded, especially on good days. If the main spot is busy, there are some scattered peaks further south that can be worth checking out. Overall, Cabedelo is a flexible break that can offer fun sessions depending on the conditions.
