General: Cape Romain is the most exposed spot on the South Carolina coast. Before venturing to Bulls or Cape Romain, it's probably a good idea to let the Coast Guard know...in case you go missing. This entire area is characterized by vast stretches of salt marsh and wooded maritime islands.</br></br>This spit of sand/beachbreak is only accessible by boat, and it does get surf that the rest of the state doesn't see. Works on all swells and is especially well-exposed to hurricane energy. Tides: Low to mid Size: Waist-overhead high Wind: W, NW - blows out easily Swell: S, SE, NE, E Bottom: Sand. Paddling: Surfing an open ocean shoal so plenty of current, you will pretty much always paddling. Spot Rating: Mostly a left breaking into deep water channel. Highly fickle and exposed to wind, but can be a quality wave.

Intermediate to advanced. Get hurt out here, and it's a long way from home.
