Carizalillo is a small rocky bay that will have fun waves for all types of surfer on all types of craft. Needs a hefty swell to get the lumpy left walls and shallower, rock strewn rights going, which prefer lower tides to avoid the bounce in a bay that is often flat and perfect snorkelling territory.
General: Carrizalillo Village is accented by a stunning, secluded cove splattered with palm-frond palapas and mellow right and lefthanders peeling along the steep headlands to the north and south. On smaller swells, Carrizalillo is really best for beginners. Tides: All tides Size: Waist to head high Wind: N, NE Swell: SSE, S, SSW, SW Bottom: Sand, scattered rocks Paddling: Pretty mellow most days, and both the left and right on either side of the bay have a deep channel adjacent the breaks. Spot Rating: Fun but never great.
Beginner to intermediate
Easy to find, but you have to traverse a fair amount of steps.
March-October
Crowd Factor: Depends on conditions. Local Vibe: Mellow, but respect the locals.
Only medium consistency and sometimes crowded with local bodyboarders, longboarders and everything in between. Surf school operates here also.
Typically pretty clean.
