More about Carola surfspot

Puerto Baquerizo, also named Wreck Bay, has the greatest concentration of decent surf spots in the Galapagos. It’s also the administrative capital of the islands and holds the bulk of the islands accommodation. Carola is by far the most consistent wave, a righthander in front of the lighthouse, working on NW-N swells, plus a SW can also sneak in. It’s a long, tubular wave, rideable from 4-12ft+, with a fast, heavy drop, made more difficult by the SE trades blowing into the barrel. Mid tides usually help with makability and expect to get get caught inside, where the duck-diving is fierce.

walk or boat

The boulder strewn lava rock reef and semi-crowded conditions make this an experienced surfers spot, especially at size. It's a 10min boat ride or 2km walk from the port.
