Chippada is a right-hand point that peels over sand off an exposed headland, with shallow banks and a setup that suits smaller swell. When waves are hard to come by along this stretch, it tends to be the more consistent option compared to the righthand points nearby.
When It Works
The point draws swell from southwest through north to northeast, and south swell is the best match. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Consistency is reasonable rather than reliable, so it pays to keep an eye on the forecast for the windows when the swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest offshore wind. The point can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.

Getting to Chippada is an ordeal. It takes a half hour drive down a dirt road, followed by a half hour walk along a dry river bed.
