Surf: General: Also called Anglin's Pier, Commercial Pier is located in Lauderdale by the Sea to the east of Commercial Boulevard and is one of the few surf spots in Fort Lauderdale to recover completely from beach restoration programs. It is easily accessible and breaks well on either NNE swells or windswell conditions. Anglin's is also the site of an annual ESA contest. Tides: Low and incoming Size: Waist-high to overhead Wind: WNW Swell: NNE, SE Bottom: sand Paddling: Breaks pretty close to the beach. Spot Rating: Pretty average spot overall. No one is driving here solely to surf this spot. Access: Surprisingly easy. Crowds: Crowd Factor: Heavy. Local Vibe: Aloof. Environment: Water surprisingly clean being near such a populated area.
