Overview
Crushers is a left-hand reef break sitting just over the channel from Supers on the Cactus stretch. It grinds barrels across a shallow, uneven reef, and while it shares the same swell and tide as the right next door, it comes in a touch below it in quality.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from south to west, and it needs a bit more size in that window to get the barrels running, with southwest (SW) swell the best match. It works from 1.8 m / 6 ft to 3 m / 10 ft and is moderately consistent.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind. It comes in on low tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an expert-level wave over a shallow reef, so it's one for surfers who really know what they're doing. It also tends to be the quietest break on the Cactus stretch, so expect a fairly relaxed lineup even when plenty of surfers are around.
Access
You'll find a car park with free parking, plus camping on hand.
