More about Delray Beach surfspot

Delray Beach offers above average beachbreak that works best at the south end (Anchor Park). Will take both NE and SE swells from slop to sizeable, but tends to have better peaks on a NE'er at mid to high tides.

General: Located at the end of Atlantic Boulevard, Delray Public Beach's south end delivers some mighty fine surf at times. Delray works on every tide and swell combination, but on big swells and lower tides the outside sandbar really fires. Tides: Low and mid-tides Size: Waist-overhead Wind: WNW Swell: NNE-NE Bottom: Sand Paddling: Swells usually come with currents, so be ready. Solid paddle on bigger NE swell days. Spot Rating: Good spots on NE swell but gets very crowded. There is room to spread out though.

Fall-Spring, Hurricane

Crowd Factor: It can get very crowded at the best peaks but lost of room to spread out. Local Vibe: Mellow.

Delray is often crowded but a relaxed atmosphere is maintained. Suffers from the endemic ‘shark and man-o-war’ syndrome.

Nice and clean.

Normal sea life - sharks, jellyfish, sea lice.
