Dracula is known for its unique surf experience, often referred to as the evil twin of Boilers. Located about 500m south of Boilers, it features a series of vampire-teeth-like rocks that make the landscape both intriguing and a bit treacherous. This spot isn't for everyone; the environment can be sketchy, and it’s really more suited for advanced surfers looking to challenge themselves.
The surf here can get pretty intense. Ideally, the best swell direction is from the NorthWest, but it can also pick up swells from the SouthWest and North. It handles swell sizes around 4ft (about 1.2 meters) quite well, breaking over an uneven reef. The waves are typically a point break that move right, so if you're regular-footed, you might find a groove here. The wind coming from the NorthEast helps create better conditions, and it’s best to surf at mid tide for optimal results. Remember, this spot is really meant for expert surfers due to its demanding nature.
Accessing Dracula can be quite tricky with a tough entry and exit. Given the challenging environment and conditions, it's advisable to approach this spot with care and make sure you're ready for what it has to offer.
