El Agujero surf guide

El Agujero is a surf spot located in Galdar, Gran Canaria. It's known for its powerful waves created by submerged volcanic rock formations. This spot can pack a punch, making it more suitable for experienced surfers rather than beginners.

The right-hand wave at El Agujero is the main attraction, known for having one of the heaviest barrels in Gran Canaria. It really can break boards and test your skills. The left is there, but it's generally not as good as the right. The optimal swell direction is Northwest, and the spot can handle swell sizes starting around 4ft (1.2m). Surfers typically find the best conditions during mid to high tide, and for the best experience, aim for a wind coming from the south.

Keep in mind that the localism here can be pretty intense, so be respectful if you decide to paddle out. The consistency of the waves isn’t the highest, so check the conditions before heading out.
