General: El Chinchorro is a Playa Hermosa-like beachbreak located close to the heart of the capital city of Santo Domingo. It's just off the road east of the oil tanks that are east of the main harbor. It's shifty, sometimes wobbly, and usually a lot better than it looks from shore. Tides: Any Size: Head high to a couple feet overhead Wind: NW Swell: SSE Bottom: Sand Paddling: Pretty easy paddling overall. Spot Rating: Good wave when working, this beach break offers up quick short rides. Best for more experienced surfers.
