More about El Faro surfspot

The long workable rights of El Faro are the best in the bay when a W swell spokes around the point. Lower tides and N winds make for long rides through the multiple sections into the protection of the bay.

Since the point was purchased to build the luxurious Four Seasons Resort, access is thoroughly guarded and requires a long walk, paddle or a boat. Corral del Risco´s beach, El Anclote, is the place to go to hire a “panga” at the small harbour Fishermen Cooperative. Anclote beach has beginner beachies beside the rivermouth jetty and a righthand reefbreak to the west has mellow walls for longboards, until the swell size increases to overhead and the waves get more powerful and challenging. The prevailing NW wind here blows directly offshore most of the year and Anclote likes a large W swell.
