El Quisco is a rocky beach located in Chile that offers a few surfing options suitable for different skill levels. It can get crowded, especially during peak seasons, so be prepared for a bit of local attitude. Parking can cost you in the summer, so plan accordingly.
The surf here works best with a SouthWest swell and can handle sizes around 3 ft (about 1 meter). You’ll find a mix of waves breaking over uneven reefs and sand. For the left-handers, there’s a wave off a rock that can perform well when the sand fills in right. The right-hand waves can be found at both La Derecha in the middle and a rare one at the north end that needs a NW swell. It’s good for intermediate surfers, and you’ll want to check it at low to high tide. A SouthEast wind is preferable to make the most of your session.
Make sure to keep an eye on the conditions, as they can change quickly. The variety of breaks means you’ve got options, but the quality can fluctuate based on the swell and tide. It’s not the most consistent spot, so be ready for a hit or miss, but it's worth checking out if you're in the area.
