Overview
Farinole is a beach break on the Cap Corse with good swell exposure and gorgeous surroundings. A band of reef holds the swirling sands in place and cuts down on close-outs at the north-end peak, and the break throws both lefts and rights. Access is easy and straight from Bastia, which is why many surfers from the city head here rather than picking their way between the rocks of Miomo on the east side.
When It Works
The break draws swell from west through north, with west (W) swell the best match. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, breaking over a mix of uneven reef and sand. Consistency is moderate, so expect worthwhile windows rather than surf on demand.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast (SE) offshore wind. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers, and you can expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on.
Access
There's a beach-side car park with free parking, plus camping nearby. You'll find it north of St Florent.
