Fishermans is a remote surf spot located along a rugged coastline. It's a rocky righthand reefbreak that can be challenging to access. Getting there involves a bit of a trek, so you'll want to park by the deserted farmhouse on the lane between Aberdaron and Rhiw and then walk down the path by the stream. This isn't a place for beginner surfers or those looking for an easy day out.
The waves here are best when the swell comes from the South or Southwest, ideally hitting around 4 ft (about 1.2 meters). The waves break over boulders, making it a bit dangerous, especially for less experienced surfers. If you're looking to catch some good rides, the optimal wind direction is from the Northeast, and mid to high tide is preferable. Just keep in mind that this spot is really for experts; the small take-off area and localism can make it tricky for anyone who isn't familiar with the break.
Because of its remote location, it's important to respect the local surfers and the spot itself. Localism is strong here, so being aware and courteous can go a long way. If you're planning to surf at Fishermans, make sure you know what you’re doing and are prepared for the conditions.
