Forestry has something for everyone with its reliable beachbreaks and also a sweet left point in NE swells, which gets crowded on weekends. There’s a right on the north side of Te Arai Point in E or SE swell squeaking thru the Barrier Islands. Plenty of peaks stretching into the distance down Pakiri Beach.

Forestry is located on the south side of Te Arai Point, on the east coast from Wellsford, north of Auckland. From Auckland, head north on Auckland Northern Motorway, State Highway 1, over the Auckland Harbour Bridge. Continue through Warkworth and before you get to Wellsford turn right onto Wayby Valley Road. Turn right onto Whangaripo Valley Road, then first left onto Waiteitei Road. Turn right onto Mangawhai Road, then first right onto School Road. Continue onto Oceanview Road. Turn left onto Busbridge Road, then right onto Redhill Road and left onto Oceanview Road. Before you get to Te Arai Point you will need to turn right onto one of the forestry tracks down to the beach, just on the south side of te Arai Point.
