More about Frankport surfspot

About six miles (8.5km) south of Humbug Mountain on the windy, winding, always-sliding 101, watch for a large, partially excavated headland and pull off on the dirt road that leads to the north-facing cove called Frankport. Big W or SW swells wrap around the head, cranking off occasionally good lefts. In the middle of the cove, a decent peak (especially on a NW swell) forms off a small rock (exposed at lower tides), sending a reeling right into achannel near the rocky shore. Can get big. Left can be good too.

Good shelter here from S wind. Park at the top and walk down to Frankport; there are craters on this so-called road that can swallow anything less than a Hummer whole.
