Galiote is a beachbreak located near Fréjus, known for its inconsistent surf but can be a decent spot when the conditions align. It's one of the few popular surfing locations in the area, usually kicked into action when there's an E wind and swell. The harbour breakwalls and jetties help maintain the sandbanks, which can occasionally create something rideable, though good days can be rare.
This spot works best with swells coming from the East and can handle sizes starting from around 1 foot (0.3 meters). Waves can break over sand, offering both left and right options for surfers. Galiote tends to suit intermediate surfers, especially with the right weather. The most favorable wind direction is from the West, and it can be surfed at low, mid, or high tide.
When looking for a place to park, there’s a lot next to the lake or harbour, which is pretty convenient. Additionally, if you explore the Boulouris/Cape Dramont stretch, you might discover some hidden reefs that could offer even more variety for your surf sessions.
