Surf: On an easterly wind, there’s the novelty of a left pointbreak at Gericke Point, but only in small summer conditions. Gets sucky and fast over the volcanic rock shelf so attracts local bodyboarders, especially in SE windswells which wrap in nicely. Easily overpowered by a SW groundswell, which is when the reef peak a further walk to the west will wake up. Environment: Long walk out to the break.The Sedgefeild and Groenvlei beachbreaks are pretty average.
