Il Trabucco surf guide

Il Trabucco is a popular surf spot located about 5 kilometers north of Forte dei Marmi along the coastal road. It's known for its accessibility and the nearby landmark, the restaurant Trabucco, which makes it easy to find. This area can get pretty crowded, especially during peak surf seasons, so be prepared to share the waves with other surfers.

The surf at Il Trabucco offers fast rights and lefts on both sides of the pier, with several peaks breaking along the sandy beach. It works best on small, windless southwest swells, and it's not a great spot if there's onshore wind. You can expect the waves to be rideable with swell sizes starting from about 1 foot (0.3 meters). The best conditions are usually found when the winds are coming from the northeast, and it can handle a variety of tide heights, making it suitable for surfers of all levels, particularly beginners.

As you'll be surfing over sand, it's a forgiving spot for new surfers to practice their skills. If you're looking for a place that handles mostly southwest and northwest swells, Il Trabucco could be a good option. Just be mindful of the crowd, as this spot can attract many surfers when conditions are right.
