More about Indicator surfspot

A well-known trio of thick, rocky, powerful and somewhat hazardous reef waves off the south tip of Bluff Cove. All breaks from 4ft (1.2m) and up, best with medium tide and big NW winter swells. Challenging waves that are localized, so beware. The spots are too bumpy at extreme high tide, too shallow and rocky at extreme low tide. The innermost section of the point is called Lowers, a hollow, shifty reef wave. Middles lies just outside Lowers, a meaty, shallow left, good up until a few feet overhead. The outermost segment of the point is called Uppers, an unpredictable serious big-wave left only when the conditions are working in its favor. Often mushy and hollow on the same wave. Experienced surfers and big-wave boards only. Never closes out.

Access is via a sheer path off Paseo del Mar.
