Jaya Ji surf guide

Jaya Ji is a surf spot located about a two-hour hike south of Robertsport. The name means "mangrove waters," reflecting the beach lagoon surroundings. This spot is relatively new on the surf map but has gained attention for its unique setup. A rocky headland nearby plays a big role in shaping the waves, making it a place worth checking out for surfers looking for something different.

The surf at Jaya Ji is best with swells coming from the south, but it can also handle waves from the west. The spot works well with swells ranging from about 0.6 meters to 2 meters (2 feet to about 6.5 feet). You’ll find waves breaking over boulders and sand, providing a variety of rideable sections. Typically, the waves are point breaks that break to the left, offering good opportunities for both intermediate surfers looking to improve and those who want to practice their skills. The best winds come from the northeast, and you can surf here during low, mid, or high tides.

Keep in mind that because of the exposed nature of this coast, there can be more current, so it's a good idea to watch your surroundings. The waves can set up for some fun lefts, especially when the conditions align. Jaya Ji is a spot where you'll find both rip-able waves and the chance to work on your technique.
