Jenness Beach surf guide

Jenness Beach is a surf spot located on the New Hampshire coast. It’s mostly known as a longboard destination, making it a favorite for surfers who enjoy a chill day on the waves. The beach accommodates various swell directions and tides, so it can be a reliable option throughout the year. It's best suited for beginners and intermediates, offering a mellow vibe for those looking to catch some waves without the pressure of a competitive lineup.

The surf here is typically mellow, with waves ranging from about knee-high (0.6 meters) to a few feet overhead (around 2.4 meters). It can handle swells from the Northeast and Southeast, making it versatile in different conditions. The beach offers both left and right breaks over a sandy bottom dotted with random rocks, so watch your step. Winds from the west and northwest generally provide the best conditions, especially during mid to high tide. Most surfers find it’s often best around incoming tides, allowing longboarders to glide smoothly on the peaky, soft waves.

Jenness Beach is open for surfing primarily from September to March, with access to metered parking for around 67 cars during the summer. Just a heads up, the lineup can get a bit crowded, especially on nice days, but the local vibe is fairly laid-back. Given its clear waters and beautiful setting, it’s a nice spot for a surf session, so grab your longboard and enjoy the ride!
