Kimmeridge - The Ledges surf guide

Kimmeridge - The Ledges is a well-known surf spot located on the southern coast of England. It features a scenic environment with rugged cliffs and a relatively mellow vibe, making it a decent option for surfers looking to catch some waves. The waves here are not always perfect, but they can be fun, especially if you time your visit right. It tends to attract a mix of local surfers and visitors, and it's a good place to escape the busier spots nearby.

This spot offers long, mellow reef breaks that work well with swells from the southwest, although it can also handle swells coming from the south and west. The waves typically break over uneven reef and can reach up to about 3 feet (0.9 meters) high. You'll find both lefts and rights, but left-handers tend to come in a bit more often. It's best to hit the water around mid to high tide, especially if you're an intermediate surfer looking to enjoy the session without too much hassle.

While itโ€™s popular among longboarders, the setup can get crowded during peak times. Keep in mind that there are a few rocks and rip currents, especially when the swell picks up, so staying aware of the conditions is important. To get to Kimmeridge - The Ledges, park down near the slipway and take a walk east around the cliffs to find your way to the surf.
