Together with Piggy, Kvassheim is the jewel of the crown on Jæren. Fast, punchy performance walls especially on the favoured S swells. Once the swell goes north of W the Rio Grande current hits in, the paddling gets unbearable for most surfers and the shoulder also fades. 100 m + rides at its best so most surfers walk back up the point to save some paddling power.

Camping at either end of Brusan beach, just a minute or two drive south of here.

Due to the new nature protection area here one are not allowed anymore to use the road that otherwise would bring you right down to the waterfront. Please park by the road and remember to shut the gate when passing through. Kvassheim is banned from surfing in the period from 1 October to 31 March, just like Piggy.

Sadly, the ban on surfing due to its impact on migrating birds applies here as well, despite the birds only stopping for a short period at both ends of the ban period (1st Oct-31st Mar). Park out on road - shut all gates. Camping at Brusan Beach.
