More about L’Horizon surfspot

One of a dozen named semi-secret spots on the peninsula that can have great banks on any given day. Better with peaky, summer, W windswells, on smaller, lower tides, so there should be no reason to surf a crowded peak.

Surfers from Arcachon can ride the pinnace across the basin before hopping on the tramway that stops right at this beach. Beach markers are helpful to gauge the swift north to south currents. Beware of old bunkers and eroded jetties that help make some big scallops in the coastline here. Most facilities at a few access points and there are surf schools and board hire, but this area quickly becomes unsuitable for beginners as the size and rips increase.
