La Palue is a well-known surf spot located on the Crozon Peninsula. It's a wide open, west-facing beach that is quite popular among surfers. The area can get pretty crowded, but the vibe remains friendly and relaxed, making it a good place for intermediate surfers to hang out and catch some waves.
The surf here is a beach break that picks up swells from different directions, mainly from the west, southwest, and northwest. It's best to surf when the swell is around 1ft (about 0.3m) to handle the beach break over sand. At low tide, the waves can be a bit messy and weaker but pick up as the tide rises past mid. A notable feature is that you can find long walls and the occasional barrel section, providing a fun ride for surfers with some experience. The waves can break both left and right, which adds to the variety you can enjoy while surfing here.
Access to La Palue is convenient, with facilities located in Morgat. If you're looking to escape the crowds for a bit, check out Lostmarc’h just to the north at low tide, where you might find some rideable conditions up to 3m (10ft). Just keep an eye out for any obstacles that might show up due to spring low tides.
