La Speranza surf guide

La Speranza is a beautiful surf spot located about 8km south of Alghero, along the scenic coastal route to Bosa. Known for its picturesque bay, this spot tends to attract a rare crowd, thanks to its long line-up. The water is usually clear and inviting, making it a great place to spend your day catching waves.

This spot features a solid righthand point break that works best with northwest swells. It can handle swells as small as 2ft (0.6m) and is perfect for more experienced surfers, as the waves can get fast, hollow, and shallow. The ideal swell direction is northwest, but it can also work with southwest swells. When the winds are coming from the northeast, the conditions tend to be more favorable. You can catch good waves at low, mid, or high tide, but keep in mind that the uneven reef can make the take-offs a bit tricky.

Accessing the water is fairly straightforward, with a paddle-out channel located on the south side of the bay. It's a spot where you can enjoy powerful tubes during the right conditions, and while it may not be the most famous surf location, it definitely offers a unique surfing experience.
