Laulii surf guide

Laulii is a surf spot located not too far from Apia, ideal for those looking for a manageable wave. This place is best suited for average surfers and offers a more laid-back vibe compared to some of the heavier spots nearby. The surf here is generally pretty fun, with a friendly atmosphere that makes it enjoyable for all skill levels, especially intermediates.

The right-hand waves at Laulii really need a decent swell to get going, ideally around 3ft (1 meter) or more, so it can properly wrap around the reef. The optimal swell direction is from the North, with Northwest and Northeast swells also working. When conditions are right, you can expect some fun and ripable walls that really pitch on those bigger groundswells. To get the most out of it, southeast winds and mid to high tide are preferable, making those rides even sweeter.

For those looking to explore beyond Laulii, Dragons Breath is a challenging spot just a bit closer to Apia. It's a full-on, righthand barrel that requires some serious paddle power, as it breaks a good distance offshore. This spot is definitely for the more advanced surfers, so keep that in mind. If you're up for testing your tube-riding skills, make sure to check it out when the conditions are on point!
