Surf: Leblon outputs beefy rights up to 12ft in S swells that are sheltered from W winds at the pointbreak and there are sucky, dumpy beach peaks as well, running right through Ipanema down to Arpoador. The 4km (2.5mi) of Copacabana beach are known worldwide and although the surf is not all that good, boogies have found a square, Shark Island type right reef named Shorey or Expresso Escorpiao. Environment: This stretch is totally zooed from dawn till dusk and the locals will not be very accommodating.
