Lena is a surf spot located further south in Tsuno. It's a long left boulder pointbreak combined with a rivermouth, making it quite unique. The break is best when there's NE to E swell, which helps keep the waves well-shaped. On the right day, surfers can enjoy rides up to 400 meters long, although that doesn’t happen all the time. There’s also some intriguing reef in front of the harbor that can be explored, leading up towards Hakashita.
The optimal swell direction for surfing at Lena is NorthEast, but it can also handle SouthEast swells. The waves break over boulders and generally work well when the swell reaches around 0.6 meters (2 feet) and can handle a bit more power. Surfers can expect left-breaking waves, which can be fun if you like going that way. The best winds for surfing here come from the NorthWest and all tide heights, whether low, mid, or high, can provide rideable conditions, though it's mostly recommended for experienced surfers.
Accessing the spot is possible via the seawall or through the farms behind the break. Given its location and the nature of the waves, it’s a spot that will require solid skills, so it’s not really for beginners. After a good session, be sure to check out the area because there might be more to discover.
