Lido Beach surf guide

Lido Beach is a due south-facing stretch of sand that can get pretty crowded, especially during the summer months. This spot tends to attract both locals and visitors looking to catch some waves. You can usually find a decent setup for surfing when the conditions cooperate, so it’s worth checking out if you’re in the area.

For surf, Lido Beach really shines with a southeast swell, and it handles swell sizes starting from about 2 ft (0.6 m). The waves here can break both left and right over sand, which makes it suitable for beginners to intermediate surfers. The best conditions occur with a north wind and during low to mid tide, as this is when you’ll find the hollowest waves. On a good day, especially with the right swell, it’s a fun spot to ride some decent waves.

If you're planning to surf here, keep in mind that Lido Beach picks up more swell than Long Beach, which gives you a bit more variety to work with. Additionally, during the summer, some residents offer parking in their driveways or yards for a small fee, so you won’t have to stress too much about finding a spot for your car.
