A big nor’easter can wrap around Swampscott and hit this long, flat beach, which is indistinguishable from Nahant Beach. A few more surfers up at this end, particularly up near Kings Beach if there are strong NE winds. Offshore can be anything from W to N. Weak but lined-up swells produce fat, crumbly peaks.
Only just qualifies for weekly (high) consistency, rarely crowded, and less polluted than the breaks to the south.
