More about Majanicho surfspot

Picks up any swell from the north and bends it down a straigt reef into the deep bay at the growing village of Majanicho. Long rides that shoulder off predictably and give plenty of cutback practice for intermediates and cruisers. Gets rammed with wind rigs if it's blowing E.

General: There is a small, natural harbour here protected by two reef-lined headlands. A long righthander peels along the eastern edge of the channel, peaking way out back, and rolling through as a long, fat wall. On larger swells it can connect through to the inside. When mellow, there can be an intense crowd of SUPers, longboarders, and beginners. There is also a low tide lefthand reef close by that gets hollow and tasty in big swells. Exposed to wind so best on a medium, clean groundswell. Tides: All tides Size: Waist high to overhead. Wind: SE Swell: W, NW Bottom: Jagged reef Paddling: Long paddle as it breaks way outside. Spot Rating: A reef that produces mostly long, mellow, fat, cruisy rights, but on a big, clean swell and low tide gets good.

A reef with shallow and sharp sections, this spot is mostly suitable for intermediate to advanced surfers. Although when small, beginners can enjoy.

New ashphalt road to Lajares

There's parking out on the end of the headland. Paddle out in the deep channel.

December to February.

Crowd Factor: Super busy when small and fun, less so when big. Local Vibe: Pretty mellow through can be hectic.

Only sometimes crowded - the long paddle out deters a few. Urchins and currents. Big apartment complex development may affect the pristine environment when conmpleted.

Good

Reef, shallower at low. Exposed to rips when bigger.
