Mananero surf guide

Mananero is a beach break located along an extensive playa that heads towards the La Boca rivermouth kite spot. This area offers surfers a decent place to catch some waves. It's not the most famous spot around, but it can be fun, especially when the conditions line up right. The sandy bottom makes for a smooth ride, and the vibe is pretty relaxed with some local surfers often out early in the morning.

This spot works best with a northeast swell, but you can also catch waves from the north and east. It handles swell sizes down to around 2 feet (about 0.6 meters) pretty well, and you can expect both left and right waves, making it a versatile option. The waves can offer some short barrels if the wind is calm. It's usually a fast break, so it's a great place for intermediate surfers looking to challenge themselves. Low to mid and high tides are all good for getting out there, with southwest winds being preferred to keep the conditions clean.

Keep an eye out for rips when you're in the water, as they can be tricky. The spot can get crowded at times, but it's usually manageable. It's a good idea to respect the locals and enjoy the surf when conditions are right.
